Review: Great review on the MacBook Pro! I'm with you on all the details you mentioned. For personal use, I switched from using a PC to an Apple in early 2004. I bought my very first Apple, which was an iBook G4. It was great! In the period that I had it, there were zero problems, while on the other side of the fence my friend had a Dell with XP operating system on it. His PC always had viruses, froze, had glitches, etc. Numerous times he was about ready to throw the thing out the window. He said once, "I have never seen your laptop give you any problems." I said, "Yup, dude, you need to get an Apple."
I bought my 17" MacBook Pro just last month and gave away my iBook G4 to my nephew. I just love my MacBook!
I use a PC with Windows at work and it always gives me problems.
I cannot see how anyone can ever go back to using a PC with any Windows operating system on it.

Review: Concerning the video clip with the childrens chorus; it doesen't exactly impress me that video and audio is out of synch at the end - the conductor continues conducting well into the applaud. I think I'll stay with my IBM G5 for a while still? Good review anyway!

Review: Wow John, you seem to have also missed the boat, they are talking about the MacBook Pro, not your old Powerbook. Yes the PC's are cheaper, but if you need the best bang for the buck with regards to high end processing you're getting a better value with the Mac;-)
I use both as well, and have realized that until everyone converts, they are both a necessity.

Review: Macs are nice overall, although they are pricey. But, I must concur that you do get what you pay for. I have been using PCs since 1982 and Apples since 1979 (when I was in grade school), and find both very workable. I have both at home (Powerbook and HP desktop). But I find that I always get more done using Macs, so I tend to use that machine. XP is awesome, and I'm sure Vista will be better, in much the same way that Leopard will be. I dislike all the dissing amongst PC and Mac-ophiles. They are both good machines, one just needs to pick and choose what aspects of their machines/O.S.'s (performance, hassles, crashes, price/performance, maintenance, viruses) are important to them, and go with that.

[1] "Are we commenting here about hardware or software?" Ah, last time I checked, a computer system consisted of both so Mac vs Windows is a de facto part of the debate Intel or not. [2] Trying to parallel older hardware with this price discussion doesn't work. [3] Yes, I know... a credit card and a screwdriver then you can build your own... wait for the Next Great Gateway Sale... A Dell Dimension blah blah blah is on sale blah blah blah. This is not how most people shop... by a long shot. Many computer-centric posters don't, and I'm thinking may never, get this.

Review: Are we commenting here about hardware or software? Your computer itself won't get spyware, just the operating system. Lets stick to the hardware, shall we? This is not a OSX vs Windows debate... We can point out Microsoft's (many and numerous) flaws later. :)
I use a Powerbook at work and a PC at home. Both work great. The Mac has a few troubles, but that's got more to so with a useless IT guy than the machine itself. Both the machines are about as old as each other, and the PC is by far better value.
While there is a lot of power under the bonnet of this shiniest of macs, with the 100's of PC retailers out there i'm sure you could find a handful with cheaper prices.

Review: Mac with OS X is so much better than PC, I can't imagine anyone trying it will go back to the MS agony.

Review: First, I'm a Windows Server Admin for about 200+ servers at NASA. If you really must suffer the horrors of the damned, then by all means get a Perpetual Care (PC) computer and check for the daily 10 or 15 viruses you will be getting soon. Or, get a Mac and be bored with all that uninterrupted creativity. It is far cheaper than the equivalent PC and, if you still crave those moments when you lose all your data, you can still boot your Mac in PC native mode and suffer with the rest of us.

The Mac dissers and Windows fanboys seem to have taken the week off. They have not been filtered out; they just haven't been posting.

Review: Anyone who still uses the worn out overpriced comment about Apples Obviosly has never used a Mac! Most people know you get what you pay for. So in essence if you want a Ford then go get one. But when I pass you going 200mph and that great Low priced Jalopee is sputtering, don't complain you made that SILLY purchase!
