Review: Seems to me the computer needs to be in there somewhere. Many of the 10 innovations mentioned in the article rely heavily on computerization in today's world: manufacturing (guns and tires); utilities (power and water); food processing; construction; and medicine.

Review: Good story - but what about all of the non-gadget innovations that changed the nation: the 30-year mortgage, credit cards, the GI Bill and the community college, universal primary education, etc., etc?
