Review: econguy, It's people like you (closed minded individuals) who make me sick. It's people like you that can't see past the hand in front of there hipocriticle faces. It's people like you that hold us back form what America really could be. It's not about ONLY the U.S. and "big oil". If you want to get down to brass tacks, it's about saving our home. No, I'm not talking about the United states, I'm talking about the WOLRD. Mr "straightlines thinkers". You make me sick but you know what, that's ok. Because all us "straightline thinkers" will be living on a lovely, well-kept planet that can sustain itself when all the smoke has settled. You go ahead and drive your air-polluting and gas-guzzling Armada or whatever SUV you drive. Just know this, when it comes down to it, it's not about you, and your small thoughts about the "new agers;" it's about way more than you could ever possibly understand. :)

Review: The cut in funding of an important promoter of alternative energy, the NEVC, is just showing how soon the industry wants us to burn clean...in 25,000 years, thanks to the strong influence of the oil industry.

Review: Until recently US refinery capacity had recovered to 90% of capacity and hovered at that level for the first half of 2006. That rate is now moving up to 95% and beyond and many new expansion projects are underway along the Gulf coast and overseas. Alternative fuel projects and investors are going to get smacked. The only question is how much of the alternative fuel capacity and flex fuel equipment will be locked in place with subsidies and how much will be forgotten by the public and fickle policy-of-the-day advocates. Refinery capacity gains will also be followed by huge capacity gains in deliverable natural gas, rig capacity, hydrofrac equipment, heavy oil development, tar sands projects, and new hybrid vehicles. Straight line thinkers are in for some rude shocks, especially in alternative fuel promotion.

Review: It is a tragic irony that now Alt. Fuels vehicles are becoming part of the nation's basic transportation program, that the U.S. Dept. of Energy has reduced funding for the only E85 advocacy group in the country. The NEVC has received notice that the DOE is reducing our federal funds by $2.3 million, or 80% of the total we anticipated. Doesn't seem to fit with the President's goal of increasing the use of biofuels. Phil Lampert, Executive Director National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition www.e85fuel.com
