Review: We need stability in the software we use. It takes expensive time to upgrade user skills, whether on operating systems or applications. The cost of change for questionable benefit is not always cost effective. Apple's constant change is a great example of "Future Shock" in the 21st Century. The cost of "free software" is in the retraining time.

Review: You have got to be kidding. With all the privacy problems out there (like the AOL release) you really want me to put all of my plans, finances, and information on Google so that it can be readily available for whom? Do you really think Google (or anyone else for that matter) won't use all the data in your spreadsheets, documents, etc? Paleeeze.

Review: Narrow views expressed by many. Perhaps more time needed to expand them. Yes, Windows is not the only OS, however, Google depends upon Internet customers like us around the world, and 95% of them run on--gulp, Windows. Hmmm, you mean Google does not boot my computer? Take away the fluff and what is underneath is what really matters and makes a real difference. Your call, your ability for seeing beyond just the screen.

Review: It is wonderful news that Google has started wireless Internet service in its home city. When can we expect this service in other cities of the world?

Review: So tie this in with free wireless Internet county-wide and what do you get? Phone, cell phone, TV, radio, Web apps--all over the wireless. Now all Google needs to do is create a cell phone that works with it all.

Review: Finally some more competition that will give fruit to better products and more reasonable prices. And no, open office is not fully compatible, nor does it tie in well with Content Management Solutions. By the way not every one is online 24*7 and you need apps that support that, like how Google addresses that.

Review: It was high time someone with brains and brawn came up with a realistic competitor to Microsoft. Go on, Google, we're with you!

Review: Does this mean that we are moving towards on-demand applications that do not incur a cost?

Review: OpenOffice has been around for a while and is pushing open standards for office applications, which Microsoft clearly detests but had to adopt or be ejected from the Office playing field. I suspect Google will, however, adopt open standards all the way. OpenOffice is fully compatible and a much richer choice than Microsoft Office. Oh, did I fail to mention it's also free?

Review: Take this and bundle it with the Desktop-Two application that Business 2.0 just wrote up (I think the developer is called Sapotek) and you have a complete desktop system with apps -- all living in Web 2.0 land.
