Review: The discussion about Hooters Air brought out a disturbing aspect of Reena Jana's work and is a poor reflection on Business Week.
Hooters Air failed because of poor management despite the fact that several city pairs that did well. If properly marketed, the airline may well have survived.
The disturbing aspect was the statement "and scantily clad flight attendants." The flight attendants wore uniforms similiar to every other carrier and the Hooter Girls that were on board selected flights, were in the same "Hooter girl" outfits worn at every Hooters resturant. The statement that (the planes) "are now available for charter" is completely false. The FAA certificate belongs to Pace Airlines and while charters are available, there are no Hooter girls onboard.
A little homework prior to publishing a story might place Business Week slightly ahead of the tabloids in the grocery store as far as credibility is concerned.
