Review: Ford is making one mistake after another. For example, cancellation of the 300 ci, inline Six engine, probably the best engine ever made in America. Get it back, improve the fuel efficiency, and put in the Explorer and big cars- there is a population out here who loved that engine. And the Taurus, what a crappy designed car and you made it for 20 years it seems. Things will turn around with the 500 and Fusion, but it takes time. And the government needs to act, adapt national health care and remove that burden from our manufacturers. Canada has no obligations such as GM and Ford are stuck with for retirees and workers.

Review: Bring back Thunderbird, seriously. The new Bird was a stunning re-entry, and served to set the tone for the whole company. If less expensive, and standard, and promoted effectively -- sales would top 100,000. Who'd want a Miata when you could have a Thunderbird? Think Lincoln, too. These cars se the tone for the whole company.

Review: Here's my 10 cents. Buy Mazda outright and maximize synergies between it and Ford (manufacture as many US Fords as possible in Japan to cut the US salary bill). Get rid of Jaguar and Aston asap, keep Range Rover and pump money into Volvo to move it up market to compete with Audi & BMW. Don't hock all the family silver. Get the best CEO money can buy and let Bill Ford be the public face of the company only.
America needs to get behind Ford and stop this silly obsession with Toyota!

Review: You made a right move by extending your warranties; now exetend them again -- boast of the longest warranties in the world -- 11 years and 110,000 miles! Also, offer free maintenance during a part of the period...will help Ford dealers!

Review: I don't want Ford to over-react to their current problems such as a merger etc! One of the most importatant things that hurt their bottom line is fuel prices. If fuel was still $1.50 a gallon SUV sales would still be great and Ford would be doing well! Who could have predicted that? Now that things have changed, Ford needs to offer more excitng products and start styling cars and trucks that dont look alike, why pay a designer a lot of money and then put the same grille and a have a boring coporate look? For example, the Explorer looks like a mini Expedition and the Ranger pickup like a mini Explorer! Ford needs to go back to some of its past management teams for information, especially in the eighties era! Better quality is also needed in the playbook! Keep it simple just like they changed with the times in the 50s, 60s 80s and 90s it will work this time, remember all auto sales are LOCAL!!!!!!!!!!

Review: The changes Ford would need to make to be competitive are so deep that it is unthinkable. Even if they didn't have legacy costs and big debt. The biggest problem I see is buildng cars is an engineering challenge. But American business is run by lawyers, mba's and accountants. Those people will never be able to build a car that could compete with the Japanese corporations. Which are managed by old engineers.
The only parts of Ford that are good is Mazda and Volvo. Mazda because it uses Japanese engineering. And Volvo because Sweden is also highly trained in engineers and scientists. Accountants will always look at cutting costs, mba's at what trendy management philosophy of the day. While engineers will try to build a better product then last year's.

Review: Please Mr.Ford dump Jaguar!
Even in the UK it is seen as a piece of ancient history with any saving factors such as design (Alfa Romeo Brera).
Plus no world presence: Failed in Germany/France.
Plus cost of manufacturing in the UK is too expensive. Plus Ford needs to show that Volvo is the new star player in their team lineup and push it upwards with some manufacturing in the USA. Made in England is out of fashion even in England!

Review: Now for the armchair quarterback:
1. Rwd cars from Australia. Get them ready as soon as possible. They are the new Lincoln. Emphasize fuel effecient turbo 6 engines.
2. Mazda's doing great, buy it and bring over their really small Japanese cars.
3. Sell Jaguar if possible, if not, make it Lincoln's global brand. No more upscale reaching, just the Australian-based rwd cars.
4.Bring the ranchero from AUS. A unique product will always find an audience.
5. Bring the Euro Focus over, regardless of cost. Keep prices high. You need to change perceptions in this country.
6. Long warranties. You're Kia without a decent warranty.
7. More sweetheart tax deals with Southern states like all the foreigners have.
8. Manufacture in other countries until the UAW goes away.
9. Kill Mercury.
10. Youth label like Scion called 24-7.
11. Push CVTs in everything until the public gets that they're better than automatics.
12. Put the Motor back in Ford Motor Company.

Review: It would not be a sound move on Ford's part to ditch Lincoln and Mercury after investing serious cash and time. They are coming out with too many new models and too many new upgrades to be ditched.
