Review: My husband and I work for Wal-Mart. We hate it; they don't pay you well at all. I have only got 40 cents (raise) a year and I feel I exceed in my job. I am never in my department always running for them especally when all the big bosses come for a visit they act like running around like a chicken with their heads cut off. That new 60 cents a year: yeah right. They don't give that to anyone. The managers say the store manager won't allow that sorry, everyone only gets 40 cents to work their butts off for a year. I have three children. How am I supposed to support my family? Cost of living goes up, our pay doesn't. They even took away the merit raises. I'm a department manager and my husband and I work two separate shifts. How am I supposed to work all different shifts? I thought Wal-Mart was a family-oriented store?

Review: Wait until they try to phase out all the other departments that have been rumored to be gone in the next year. (sporting goods, fabrics, paint counter). Might as well close the doors.... They are shooting themselves in the foot.

Review: Wal-Mart joins The "advisory council of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce". (L.A. Times) Talk about leaving its family values' roots! They can't have it both ways, but they will say or do anything to chase one more buck. They are sending workers to apply for state programs! They were recently sued by 10 states and forced to change "always the low price" signs to "always low prices" because they raised prices so much. They drive their stock ever lower! Most Wal-mart associates don't know this but you can transfer your profit sharing from Wal-Mart stock to other investments (after being with the company 7 years) so you don't have to lose money every year! Just go to the Merril Lynch Web site at home or work (on the wire under life/401k/ML web site) follow the directions! And quit throwing your retirement money away. They don't want you to know you have a choice, everyone who knows dumps Wal-Mart! Wal-marts is the next K-Mart, time for a boycott! Sam would not be pleased!

Review: Geez, did I miss something here? I read Wal-mart's hourly associates are being capped out for raises. Sure didn't read anything about the store managers or CEOs being capped out. Makes you wonder who the company is saving the money for! Could it be the bigwigs own greed? Hmmmmm.

Review: When I worked for "Happy Face," the unions were trying to get in. Wal-Mart was sweating, warning everyone not to talk to them, and telling the associated they were fairly treated. Fifteen years later, I say "Associates, unite and get the union in."
I bet your salaries would double immediately. Maybe they don't pay anything in China for their workers, but this is still America, last time I checked.

Review: Just spoke with the people I left behind when I retired. This store now has over 50 workers that will never get another raise. There are really no positions for them to move up into. Also, many of these people started at 16, when they were in school. They graduated and became full-time thinking they had a great future with the largest retailer. Now, 20 years later (still young workers not ready to retire)they are told "no more raises." How would you feel at 38 being told you are "capped out?"

Review: I worked for Wal-Mart for many years. Whatever happened to "we're all in this together, associates?"
I know darned well the people in Bentonville are still making their millions plus stock options. Shame on this company. No happy face here!

Review: Wal-Mart has never been fair with their raises. It always depended on who your supervisor was. Some gave much better raises than others, even though your evaluation was excellent. The company has no appreciation of the loyal people who made them the giant they are today. Feel this is going to be the company's downfall. Sam wouldn't have done this.
