Review: Randy, Your comment could not be further from the truth, the bootlegs did not appear until the popularity had already happened from Digg, Metafilter, and Slashdot. Google and Youtube simple siphoned viewers.

Review: YouTube with the exorbinant amount of files has to keep the video quality pretty low. Compare a QuickTime codec movie hosted by revver.com to files hosted by YouTube.

Review: We will very soon see product placements in the more magnificent YouTube inspired video creations. So all will be happy (at least those who can cut product placement deals with brand marketers).
Of course, ad agencies are too married to their own over-priced video productions to attempt to broker this kind of deal. So who out there wants to create a business? There's a great need for someone to place products in content produced outside of the Hollywood-Madison Avenue axis.
