Review: Calling one side of this conflict "terrorist" is suspect. In 1947, Israelies led by Menachim Begin (later Prime Minister) blew up the King David Hotel, while the Irgun ran a guerilla war. Israel now has advanced weapons provided by the U.S. and calls Arabs with small weapons terrorists. Hypocritical at best.

Review: I like to comment on COOLHARD's thoughts... I completely agree with this person in that Isaeli companies are perfecting this military tools on people's lives for the sake of making a few bucks.

Review: A nice but one-sided article about the effects of war on the economy. This article should also tell us the effects of war on the Lebanese economy and companies operating there.

Review: War is terrible and it would be better if we could have peace. But one benefit the Israeli economy will reap has gone largely ignored. Again, Israeli defense companies will emerge from this conflict having proven their concepts and products in battle - or not. Example: the tactical communications system now deployed (months ahead of schedule) in the battle zone. Essentially it consists in establishing a WiMax - not WiFi - coverage area, to replace traditional tactical radio, and supply troops with multimedia tactical information in real time. If proven, it will give Israeli companies a leg up in the defense market first, and in commercial markets soon after. And given Israel's special relationship with the US, expect the American military to benefit very soon.

Review: At the end of the day we are all employees - either in the army or in the corporate world. Maybe this business disruption will help the Israelis realize that all out wars are not the answer to issues!

Review: This is a good article, but what about all the Lebanese companies whose operations have halted or been literally destroyed to rubble? The 1% hit to Israeli GDP is very unfortunate, but let's see an article estimating the damage to the Lebanese economy. (I heard a story that investors who focus on the Middle East have been morbidly calling this a good time to buy undervalued Lebanese shares.)

Review: My heart goes out to the brave Isrealis stuggling under terrorist agression from Hezbollah. I think we should send them whatever they need to help them hit the terrorist camps.
