Review: Microsoft is lucky to be extracting exorbitant amounts of money from hugely risk-averse businesses in the form of OS and office software. Their hubris is killing them, and the stock buyback is the only way for them to increase their stock price. To review, they haven't rolled out a credible array of online software and services, they've poured billions into chasing AOL, Sony, and Apple, largely unsuccessfully. They're delaying Vista to roll out Zune and increase X360 sales. They're killing the golden goose of hardware partners.
And their hardware is terrible. Even the Xbox 360. They used a lot of outside help in the design and they still screwed up in not including Wi-Fi and a hard drive in every machine.
So go ahead and buy the stock, but don't defend what is nearly the worst management team in the U.S.

Review: Microsoft is giving a great example to other businesses to work hard and create better products by spending more on research and development, which works to produce the latest products to stay ahead of rivals. The top management team should be employing excellent managerial skills and other corporate governance to be one of the top companies in the world.
