Review: MySpace is not really that bad. It's safer, in my opinion, than instant messengers, where in real time, my teenage niece recently handed out her phone number. I personally am a busy mother of two with a full time job. Myspace is often the only way I can keep up with friends and family!

Review: The World Wide Web in and of itself is dangerous. Hackers can steal credit card information from any Web site. Pedophiles can lure children with the aid of any chatroom or messenger. It's not hard to protect yourself, even on MySpace. I, for one, only add people I know in real life and keep my profile private. It's up to the individual user how much they want seen or known. Also, MySpace isn't full of ads. Sure, there are ads, just like every Web site, but no popups. Every profile has an ad bar at the top and you see an ad on your homepage. It's not flashy or distracting. Plus, it's amusing to beat up John Kerry or shoot moving ducks. We'll never have an Internet without ads. That's how the companies keep a site running.

Review: Think about how much available information there is floating around outside of this one online community. I highly doubt that getting rid of the site is going to eliminate perverts and identity theft. The Internet is dangerous, not MySpace. So if you are going to get rid of MySpace, you might as well get rid of the Internet which was designed to allow users to do the same exact things; to network, easily share information and communicate with others. And I think it would be pretty stupid to shut down the Internet which has become a necessity for the advancement of our society.

Review: I personally think MySpace is great. I use it to keep in touch with friends since I just moved. I do agree there are some issues concerning MySpace. However I don't believe it's the site's fault. If parents would become more responsible and monitor their child's usuage of all Internet use these problems would not happen. Don't put the computer in the kids room, put it where you can see what they are doing. If parents did their job as parents a little bit better this site would not be getting the flack it is. I would never let either one of my daughters do anything, not even homework, without doing it in front of me. You can't control your kids all the time but when you are at home and the kids are online be active in their intrests

Review: Oddly enough, I'm a supporter of the site. I use it to talk to friends from school and to find new music on the Web.
I don't see why you're all so scared about the Web site.
If anyone poses as someone else on the site, you know right away because they'll find out quickly (it does look a little odd when a single friend has two profiles). And the pages aren't all ads. They're mostly what people put on them, which can be a bit garish at times, but whatever you want goes. It tells you something about the person, right?

Review: MySpace is not only dreadful to look at but it also is the most dangerous tool on the Web right now. So many young people and even older citizens are being defamed by others without their consent. MySpace must become a much safer place to play or else eventually, it will be shut down by lawsuits, the government and more. As of this post, anyone can pose as you and create a falsified page under your name and photos (if they have them). Now that's scary.

Review: Orkut is far better... Myspace is gonna be a big bubble like Lycos... over hyped and under performer.

Review: I can't stand MySpace. It is full of very badly designed, overly busy HTML pages, and has almost no redeeming features. Yuck. I know that News Corp is going to make a bundle of money with regardless, so I wish them the very best of luck.

Review: I'm sure the Myspace profiles that are nothing but advertisements, like some of the posts on this, will do their part to help.

Review: In an already human-moment-deprived society of USA, do you really want to encourage this junk?
A lot what we buy today depends on the people seeing each other and interacting physically. The web sites like these and their cheer leaders are just making it so much more difficult for themselves. They will have to develop more and more micro managed campaigns for eyes and ears, hopefully not the hearts of our generations.
