Review: I know Whole Foods is the current media darling of NASDAQ, but I'm gonna tell you right now that Wild Oats is coming on strong. More and more markets are beginning to see Wild Oats/Whole Foods overlap, and when you have that sort of competition, everyone wins. Nashville is going to be a perfect example of this. There are three Wild Oats that have cultivated a nice shopping base, and Whole Foods is in the process of opening its first store in Nashville not too far from a Wild Oats. The same thing happened in Louisville (there's one of each, and both aren't even a mile apart), and it seems they are both doing very well. What I'm interested in is Alabama. Wild Oats is entering the state with a store in Huntsville next year, and Whole Foods will be doing the same in Birmingham. It'll be interesting how both stores manage against the conventional competition along with "quality food" chains like North Carolina based Fresh Market(www.freshmarket.com).

Review: Their customer service sucks because they treat their employees horribly. Regional gurus run the show with a mind only to their bonuses. Look out for a backdated options scandal possibly revealed in the future.

Review: Alas, I was dismayed to find hydrogenated yogurt raisins at the Boca Raton store in the chocolate/granola section. I never bothered to mention it to the management there. But it did strike me as odd that a company so ardently against transfats and such would have that product at all. Overall, a great company. I tend to stay as close to them as possible when picking my apartments to live in. I would say the stock would go higher. The wine tastings in Florida are awesome. Florida is the tasting capital of America, what with all the pushy New York retirees down there.
There are a few bad apples regarding the employees, especially when it comes to the disposable forks and knives but otherwise very little to whine about with this overall yummy store.
Patrick in NY.

Review: I really think Whole Food shares will get to the lowest 30s, due to customer service that is horrible, especially in Aventura, Fla.

Review: First, Whole Foods does not carry any foods with transfats. That post was a blatent lie. Secondarily, perception is reality.

Review: WF will continue to get better as they increase their commitment to small farmers by buying their local products and offering them in their local stores. The fresher quality will attract more shoppers and increase the demand for fresh, locally grown food. It's a win, win, win situation.

Review: Giant's actually making some headway towards offering enough organic products to start cutting into Whole Food's market share. I've got it to the point where the only real organic things I can't get are bread and shredded cheese. Giant even carries organic salad dressing now. As for fruits and veggies, they are much cheaper at local farmer's stands than they are at Whole Foods. Giant also doesn't have the same image problem that Wal-mart has, and it has a union, which Whole Foods won't allow. Cheers!!

Review: I would not buy their stock. I don't believe in Whole Foods. Whole Foods is an overpriced and overrated grocery store. Most of their products are conventional and not organic. Whole Foods is not health people. Whole Foods sells plenty of products with food coloring and trans fats. Many of the products that I enjoy are not available at Whole Foods. Whole Foods customer service is terrible. The employees are always so rude.

Review: Its current 50s price tag is too high? Back in December it was 75+ per share and did a split. With i's planned growth listed on its Web site, the stock is a steal.
