Review: The way the government is heading is very scary these days. It's becoming more and more rigid about pushing the moral values of a minority of America onto America as a whole. People should have the freedom to do what they want with their money and learn from their mistakes. After all, it IS our money and we did earn it whether by working or by winning it. And those that lose money from gambling should be responsible for their loss and not sum it up to being an "illness" as was mentioned earlier. What you do with your money is your business and your responsiblity, not anyone else's--including the government.

Review: And the people that lose it all should not be eligible for public assistance. as it was their own fault.

Review: I think the government has overstepped its bounds once again. It is involved in every area of our lives and is so far from what was originally designed, it's scary. The government should not protect stupid people from being stupid. If I want to lose muy money on rigged online gambling I should be able to.

Review: Ultimately it comes down to the government getting its pound of flesh, either through the front door (taxes) or the backdoor (contributions). If that doesn't happen expect the long arm to come looking for you.

Review: A crackdown in online gambling is very necessary. No regulation or verification and the reckless desperation of young adults will lead the way to thousands of compulsive gamblers. Compulsive gambling is a very serious and baffling illness that ruins lives. All forms of gambling via the Internet ought to be banned. Harmless online poker, sports betting and casino games are the pre-cursors to this insidious and very real illness--compulsive gambling!

Review: They should ban these sites. All of them. I gamble at live casinos often and I did try online poker. It's rigged, it's not regulated by any gaming enforcement, there's no age verification, and like I said, it is 100% rigged. The sites make money only off a small portion of pots (a rake). You get dealt cards that entice you to bet and play pots. That's the only way the sites make money. There are thousands upon thousands of kids trying to get thru college with poker. Yes, we have other issues to address, but to cure healthcare and poverty issues is not as easy as banning the online poker. And it is a growing issue.

Review: Poker bots and collusion make cheating online a very real possibility. I do like the idea of "real life" brick and morter casinos/poker.

Review: The government fears loss of some of its own gambling revenue. If gambling is so evil, then why is every state in the US so fond of lotteries and riverboat casinos? The hypocrisy could not be more blatant or offensive. (Hypocrisy is the act of pretending to have morals or virtues that one does not truly possess or practice.)

Review: It's a shame that a government that faces serious problems of medical care and health insurance, education, trade balance, immigration policy, government corruption, poverty, unempolyment, hunger and more is so concerned with the agenda of its minority Christian base that it would waste its time and taxpayer resources on such a miniscule "problem." However large the on-line sports gaming industry cash flow may be, weekly sports pools in every office, cafe and bar in the country probably dwarf it on any given day in any given sporting season. It is past time for American voters to send a message to the authoritarian Christian minority the country has a Constitution that renders unto Caesar and keeps religion separated (just as their Savior taught), and that they should go back to their churches and pray for guidance about how to stay out of politics.

Review: Except for the current administration bowing to it's extreme base, the only reason the government is going after online gambling is they don't get their share. It amazes me that 30 years ago the government said all gambling was bad. Now the only gambling that's bad is the gambling the government doesn't get it share of money from. Instead of gambling, maybe they should go after ExxonMobile, Haliburton, etc.
