Nickname: Concerned US taxpayer
Review: A very good story. Well done Business Week! "Shame on you BW": Did you read the same article? My concern is that the U.S. taxpayer is going to pay for what could turn out to be very expensive trials. Why?

Review: The most balanced article I've read on this topic. Well done Business Week! "Shame on you BW" simply doesn't get it. This is not about access to fair trials in the U.S. The point is, why should British citizens accused of defrauding a British bank be taken to the U.S. at all. Should a U.S. citizen accused of defrauding a U.S. bank be taken to a fair trial in Britain? The problem is the UK signed a one sided treaty that curtails the rights of UK citizens.

Review: This article casually sidestep the fact that all suspects have access to fair trials in the US, that there is due process. Does it make a difference if the suspect is British or otherwise? Some of the alleged suspects appear to be financially well-to-do (judging from their occupation), so hire a good lawyer and if proven innocent, fight to get attorney's costs recouped. I'm so disappointed that a well-respected business publication like BusinessWeek puts out such unbalanced article. One more reason not to renew my subscription.
