Review: Great article and just a quick clarification for Nancy. There is a nonprofit membership organization called the Women Presidents' Organization comprising of women presidents at the million and multi-million dollar level ($2 million in gross annual sales or $1 million for service-based business) -- locally and internationally.
Women interested in membership can contact info@womenpresidentsorg.com, call 212-688-4114 or visit:

All the best,

Review: I have been a YPO member for over 10 years and find that it is the only place I can get unbiased/non-judgmental ideas and feedback on any business and personal issues I am faced with. Being part of a second generation family business, I thought I was the only one who faced extremely difficult family issues plus the rigors of growing a retail business in today's strained environment. Through YPO I found peers who not only would listen and help me with my issues, but many who had gone through similar issues and were willing to share their experiences. Keith, you have done a great job of summing up YPO, but I also want say that YPO has helped me, exponentially, to be a better president, husband, father, and person. My closest friends are my forum members and the members of my chapter and surely will be for the rest of my days because we have so much in common. YPO gives much more than you could ever give back.

Review: I thought this was a very interesting article and amazed on how hidden this organization has been for the past 50 years. I wish I knew about this 10 years ago. I did look at WPO and it isn't for women, but old CEO's and probably for the retired businessman or CEO. When you google it it comes out "2nd wives club" which was disappointing.

Review: There are several reasons why YPO does not attract women. The best one is because there is a WPO and it serves women better.

Review: Thank you for a great piece on a great organization. I watched my uncle grow several businesses that created the opportunity for his company presidents (as well as himself) to be members of YPO. From the moment I learned of the organization I set a lifetime goal to become a member of YPO. Through several startups, a lot of aches and pains, I succeded in 2005 and was able to join. Having been a member for just a little over a year all I can say is wow. I have ten years left and I hope that time slows as I have made great new friends and my entire family is and will continue to benefit from this wonderful organization.
