Review: First let me say, that Tyler, you are an inspiration. Secondly, let me say, that whoever would say that a 6 million dollar movie can't be that good is an idiot. Let me point out a few $6 million and less films you might have heard of: Best In Show, A Mighty Wind, The Usual Suspects, Napoleon Dynamite, My Big Fat Greek Wedding and then some. The only difference with Tyler is that he not only acted, and directed, and produced these films that have produced these amazing returns consistently, but, oh wait a minute... That is the difference. If you can't look at the film, and you can't look at his faith, his numbers still don't lie. Even though this article should have begun and ended with him, numbers don't lie. One more FYI - his plays did gross over $100 million, and if I have it my way, soon his films will do the same, with the same budget.

Review: Can anyone actually COUNT ON CRUISE, that is Tom Cruise? I believe that he will crack in about 6 mos. once his teenage, common-law wife wakes up and docks on dry land, because the CRUISE, will soon be over. P.S. Stop promoting negative racial comments - keep your racial "Trailer" comments, next to your pack of chewing tobacco. Promote Peace '07!

Review: The best movie I believe I have seen in a decade was the "Black Pearl" with Johnny Depp. I sincerly hope they continue to make many more. As for the African-American movies that are made cheap and make some money--that's only because some of the African-Americans have become big stars. Let's be real. A $6 million movie really can't be that good unless you have an audience that is looking to try and make a star out of someone who isn't.

Review: I agree with other comments about Tyler not being featured first. (It is What it Is) Sadly, it was 'assumed" that if Tyler's picture would have been featured first, no one would have read the article. Tyler deserves every award and honor he receives and it doesn't matter whether he's featured first, second, etc. Tyler Perry has god's favor and we who support his work are not at all surprised about his success. It's time and I couldn't be happier to read this news.

Review: Good for Perry. I hope he does well. I am so sick of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, which if i never saw them in another movie would be great. I dont know why Brad is even up there. What has he done alone. Ocean 11 and Ocean 12 we had a large cast to support him and Mr and Mrs Smith, sure did good Ok, but everyone wanted to see him and his freak on the big scene. I didnt. Brad should not be in the same group as the others. He has never carried a movie by himself.

Review: I think Tyler Perry has done a wonderful job thus far entertaining and educating not only the black community, but the world community. Although "Madea" brings laughter to the screen, she also brings important messages that seem to have gotten lost in our society. I find it shameful that certain individuals have such low self-esteem that they find the need to criticize and deliberately attempt to sabatoge this man who has done nothing to them. In a close surburb near Chicago, my hometown, a theatre was literally giving people free admission to one of his movies. The customers, of course, thought they were getting a great deal, but some of us realized that Perry wouldn't recieve the box office numbers for free admissions. We demanded to be sold, not given a ticket, and actually ended up waiting 6 hours for the next available showing. I advise any and all who support Perry to be conscious of ploys like this and to not sit back and let them be the "technical" end to his amazing success.

Review: It looks to me like a lot of people are making a lot of money for the Hollywood Studios. It is interesting that the person who had the biggest return on investment was not pictured first in your article. Mr. Perry is not just a writer for African-Americans, he deals with issues that we all face, no matter what color. Let's not forget that Mr. Perry's movies get about 1/3 of the screens that the other movies get. More screens would have translated into more money. I had to wait two weeks to see his movies because they did not show them in the area of North Carolina where I live. There are many areas of this country that his movies can not be seen, the same can not be said for the other members of your list. We are proud of you Mr. Perry, keep up the good work, you are an inspiration to us all.

Review: Well, let me do the math. The $(63-6)=$57 million vs. $(120-75)= $45. So you can clearly see that point of the article. Tyler Perry is a better businessman. If you can generate an additional $12 million off your movies, it makes perfect sense to me and other business folks.

Review: I think the studios should cut more deals like Perry's. For contact info of other unknown, upcoming African-American theater/film Producers email me at legalblock@aol.com. I know about 4 or 5 of them... Congratulations to Tyler!
