Review: Do you still hold with the BASE ETF's as you stated in June??? Can you upgrade your recommendations for this trying time?

Review: Using the total stock market ETF [VTI] is a huge mistake, as it is market cap weighted, therefore you are primarily getting large company performance. True, it may be time for large caps, but over time [and most notably the last 5 years] small caps outperform. A better option would be to split in thirds your US equity exposure to small [e.g. IWM], mid [e.g. MDY] and large [e.g. SPY] ETF's.
You didnt mention any commodity exposure either, which should be included in small doses as well as a discussion of asset allocation, but that will be for another day's lesson...
