Review: Suggestion: make a car that is like what Volkswagon was in the 1960's. What do I mean? well I want a car with four wheels that drives good stops good corners good, fits four people comfortably, is reliable and dosent cost $500 when the water pump goes bad How about something like and old bmw 1600. Oh, leave off the power steering. Leave off all of the electronic wizardry that compensates for lack of engineering and intrinsic quality. I mean good brakes, good Independent suspension. why does a 2800 pound car need power steering? Oh because you want to sell it and your marketing have buffaloed just about every American into not questioning this unnecessary addition. Where have the chrome bumpers gone? Now they are plastic. Who gives a crap about cupholders and other plastic dodads you put in cars today? And front wheel drives, most ordinary repairs double in price because of the all of the extra work to fix them. Look at how hard it is to change a starter or waterpump.

Review: Ford needs to look at how they sell their products and who sells them . I purchased an F-150 from the sleeziest fella at a Ford dealership I have ever met. I also own a Mercedes and I felt like I was dealing with my lawyer. I didn't like the feeling but I felt better buying the car. Ford needs to get rid of every design from the past 5 years. Start building cars that come standard with 4 or 5 cylinders and make the v8 an option not a standard. America is still stuck in this old precept of V8 makes you more of a man(or woman). Grow up, already!
It was 8F at Christmas, $2.50 at the Pump and you still churn out V8 boats with 60's technology. Enema time Ford!

Review: I read recently that plans for an all wheel drive Ford Fusion fell through. I refer to the 2007 model. Is this true? Anyone know this for a fact? This is a mistake, Ford. Plus, perhaps, if they DO make AWD available for the Fusion they should consider offering it with the base four cylinder version also.
And last, but not least: Ford should make stability control an option on all Fusions.
Ford is on the right track with its new warranty plan.
I didn't care for Ford product in the past, but with these positive changes taking place, plus the talk of AWD for the Fusion, I am changing my mind, somewhat, with Ford, and am considering the purchase of a 2007 Ford machine (hopefully the Fusion AWD). Time will tell. . .
Peace!

Review: To sum up a mixed bag of sentiment toward the home team, The overwhelming feeling is that many of the (not so recent) shortcomings being found in American made cars and trucks, responsible for so many loyalists "losing the faith" and buying the competition, have been done by design to extract a penalty from rank and file types and the customers who have patriotically suffered with them. Regardless the personal beliefs or ideologies involved in this issue, two glaring facts bubble to the top.
Ford promised the benefits. Retirees don't have another 30 years to give.
Make it right Mr. Ford.

Review: Ford should grab a couple of cars from Australia and put the steering wheel on the other side. Their Falcon would be about the best Ford badged car built.

Review: The 2008 Ford product line-up and its introduction timeframe is something that should interest everyone, and a feature of this turnaround that I think analysts conveniently ignore. For 2008, Ford is rolling out a new Escape, the Fusion hybrid a freshened Five Hundred, the Freestyle, the Super Duty and the Focus with a 2009 F-150 potentially in early 2008. That doesn't sound like a bad line-up to me. All of their counterparts in L-M will also be updated and Lincoln will add its new MKS sedan by then as well. All of these models are going to be introduced throughout 2007 (starting with the Super Duty in January). I have some confidence that profitability might now be possible.

Review: 1) Ford is not releasing a four-cylinder version of the MKZ (Zephyr)
2) Ford has had four-cylinder versions of the Milan and Fusion on the market from the get-go
3) The MKZ is getting a new 3.5L V6.
4) The Freestyle, Five Hundred, and Montego were built off the XC90 platform, itself derived from the S80 platform, NOT the S60
5) Ford has more crossovers (car based utility vehicles) on the market than any other manufacturer. Their relative success is subject to debate, their existence is not.
Other than these *small* errors, the article is simply a paragon of accuracy. I would like to nominate it for a Pulitzer of some sort.

Review: I believe that Ford will make money. They have to get rid of the old drift wood in the company first. I don't understand why they will sell certain models in certain countries. Example-A Crown Victoria in the US but not in Canada. The company has to come out with more models to compete. Bring back the cars the people want. I am tired of all the plastic and rubber in the cars and trucks today. What ever happened to the chrome wheel wells, bumpers etc. Today all the cars look alike on the highway. Years ago you could tell what they were.I hope Ford doesn't end up like Oldsmobile did (dead). I've alway's had a Ford since I was 16. I've been with the company now for 26 years and enjoy going to work for the company. Bottom line is to get more models out and not be so greedy to make the almighty profit for the share holders. Think about the people first and the money will come. Thanks.

Review: I like very much where Ford is going with its restructuring plan. They have some very nice cars coming out, as opposed to GM, which still believes cheap is the way to go. People must keep in mind, it's going to take some time to switch the company from Truck/SUV based to Car/CUV based. I believe they can do it. Americans will gladly support Ford, as long as their products are competitive.

Review: One thing about corps. is that they can be in business forever if they understand the demand of the market. Many foriegn auto manufacturers have edgy advertising campaigns make their cars seem more efficient and fun to drive. Second Ford can not only rely on brand name, it needs products that can utilize media oulets that create demand. Eg. The movie "Need for Speed", Spots in the the HBO series "Sopranos", even preferred parking at professional sports events. As a consumer getting ready to buy a compact to mid size sedan, Ford does not stick in my mind as better. There is nothing special attaching consumers to the brand except for classics.
