Review: If any of you readers can remember what Napster did for the Internet, please consider this. MySpace was started by a small group (I think two college kids) and has now made them millionares. The concern about the buyouts and the changing leadership in MySpace is this: "Is my profile going to be affected?" I have a MySpace profile and I don't want the whole thing to turn into a corporate advertisement (more than it already is). I thought the XSpace promoting XIII was really tacky. C'mon Tom, fight the power!

Review: I think it's important to note that adding search to an environment like MySpace will help with another important aspect of advertising, demographic analysis. Google, for example, has some very useful tools in this regard. Add Google to MySpace and you have a pulse on what's going on with teenagers. That has to be a lucrative deal, either directly or indirectly. -- Frank Gilroy http://www.frankgilroy.com

Review: Steve Rosenbush: My name is Al MacLeese and I am a former newspaperman who has been posting stuff about MySpace on the Internet, chiefly on Konspiracy Korner, Buzzmachine, Techdirt, Catbird Forum, and all these postings. If read by someone from BusinessWeek.com, it might affect their judgment on what's in the offing for MySpace once the sordid story of the run-up to the fire sale finally hits the mainstream media. I've sent a lot of posts like this, incidentally, in the past two months and most, I guess, have been ignored. Regards, almacleese from Hallowell, Maine where life is better than most anywhere else.

Review: Sites that drive a certain amount of traffic to search engines must share the ad revenues. This is a fair way. On the other hand, search engines must encourage Web sites to do these kind of deals to dominate on the Web.
