Review: Wise Guy, My first reaction was exactly what you wrote. The strong dollar is not the real issue behind the woes of the US manufacturing industry.

Review: Bill recently amassed a one-of-a-kind complete collection of 19th century US stamps and is a proven true visionary. However, with all due respect to the Guru himself, I think his vision is further into the future than believed. Don't count out the dollar in the short term!

Review: While I agree with Bill Gross's (and Buffett's, and many others') view about the inevitable decline of US dollar in the coming years, I have serious doubt that this will restore the manufacturing base of US. It is more complicated than that. For example, Gross cited Detroit. But Detroit's problems are not due to strong dollar alone, there are others like poor management, quality, pension, union - just to name a few. Further, weak dollar may boost export in short term, its long term implications to the economy is much more debatable.

Review: The reason our dollar is weakening is our debt load. If we want to weaken more, just continue to borrow.

Review: The housing market is grossly underrated as a driver in the economy. It's a multiplier and as strong as in pre korea war period
