Review: I live in Australia and buy records on eBay frequently in the US. Leaving IM's free Skype IM's for suppliers would benefit me greatly.

Review: I find the the quality-of-service is really down, now that at any given time there are six million users online. Also the cost of calls with North America is quite low and some plans do not even charge long distance, so there is a lot of competition. Not really sure how this Skype will help eBay.

Review: Why would you want to use Skype when you can already use voice/video conferencing through IM?

Review: At least they have a plan. But they are really going to have to compete with other companies, Yahoo, Microsoft, Vonage.

Review: I think the communication function is able to help eBay to improve its Internet trading platform. In addition to allowing people to feel more secure, the communication could satisfy the special demands of some buyers and sellers for some specific high-end products, such as the luxury goods. Besides, eBay doesn't do well in some markets, such as Japan, as in the USA. I think the introduction of the communication service could help eBay to differentiate itself from Yahoo or other competitors and persuade customers to pay more for better services (more and more consumers complain about the high prices of eBay). I am only dubious how eBay evaluates the contribution of Skype.

Review: Did E-bay really needed a 'skype' me button to enable communication between customers? they could have done chat or any other browser based voip functions many years ago.
