Review: What is most striking about business networking sites is how each one is tailored to a different level of communication and collaboration. While Linkdin is great for finding industry leads and joining discussions it does not have the same level of interactivity as say Meettheboss. Similarly, the latter has more multimedia ?clout? in that they deliver industry broadcasts weekly, as well as enabling discussion forums and instant contact details, while the latter seems to have better server reliability. Taking the current discussion on Business Networking sights further and specifying it slightly more in relation to my industry, I have started a discussion thread on http://www.meettheboss.com/Discussion.aspx?discussionID=286 about the potential impact of business oriented social media on the medical and pharmaceutical industry: How will such technology influence the relationship between doctors and the pharmaceutical industry? How will the pharma industry adapt to the requirements of such technology?

Review: This is a great article. It is sometimes difficult to understand why major companies get excited about Web 2.0 without necessarily understanding its value and underlying principles, when I think this is where they should start. http://kschlenker.wordpress.com

Review: Good article. I think Peter Rip's comment is the key not to all this Web 2.0 stuff but any emerging technology trend in general that you might be interested in.
Go try it out yourself. Create a MySpace page. Open a Flickr account and upload a few photos. Write a Wikipedia entry. Create a mashup at Ning.com. The essence of Web 2.0 is experimentation and participation.

Review: Fortunately, web 2.0 tools also release CEOs from the important but routine duties, shifting these responsibilities onto tools and spread between team members. I'm not sure if this capacity relates to the new management or more flexibility section in terms of this article. Usually, such tools are included in productivity or getting things done with family. Either way, CEOs care about final results. Thus, tools like wrike.com (a mixture of wikis and e-mail with the task/project management component) force online collaboration in their key outcomes, like decisions and undertaken actions.

Review: Interesting article. However, whether Web 2.0 could "revolutionize business" is debatable.
