Review: The press has been warning the Big 3 about their over-reliance on a SUV product mix for years now. We must all share the blame. The consumers for blindly ignoring the fact of potential fuel price spikes, Congress for creating CAFE loopholes that you could drive an 18-wheeler through, and last but not least, the Big 3 whose greed for SUV profits boxed them into a corner. What everyone needs realize is that joe-average-consumer is a lemming and will follow the crowd into the ocean. The bottom-line: I spend considerably less with a vehicle that gets 15mpg but is "paid for" than I would taking out a new loan & tt&l and getting 30 mpg. Lets stop being so irrational.

Review: I owned a 91 Saturn SL2, worked for Visteon (Ford Parts Supplier Spin-Off) and couldn't have been more disappointed. The car spent more time at the shop than in the driveway. As a manufacturing engineer at a fuel tanks plant, I was apalled by the shoddy production processes, pathetic work disciplines and general disrespect exhibited everyday. QS9000 was a joke and Q1 certification was an archaic metric turned political tool. I've owned 4 excellent Hondas (including a 90 Accord still running strong) and will never buy from the Big 3. And I'm only 28.

Review: The 2006 Impala to 2006 Camry comparison is a couple of months outdated already, as the more efficient 2007 Camry hit the showrooms earlier this spring, followed last month by the hybrid. EPA ratings city/highway: Impala V6 3.5L 21/31, V6 3.9L 19/27, V8 5.3L 18/28 Camry I4 2.4L 24/33, V6 3.5L 22/31, I4 Hybrid 43/37

Review: I've had both US and Japanese manufactured cars and I'll say this:. There is a level of engineering to the manufacture of the Japanese cars that is simply absent from the US cars I've used. For those in industries where it's common-sense--perhaps the US makes more durable trucks--those in the construction field swear by US vehicles. But it's the SUV driving masses who are being screwed at the pump right now. Japanese manufacturers like Toyota looked at the oil business a few years ago and said, hey, this stuff is going to get expensive. We should make a more efficient car. What what do you know? Priuses are moving faster than even they predicted. Hummers(H1) will be cancelled this year. With the others probably soon to follow. It's simple economics, $250-$350 for a car payment + $50-$200 for insurance, then add $200-$400 a month for gas. That's a bit hard to swallow anytime. So you can be anywhere from $500-$950 or more for a car per month.

Review: I am tired of Matt Vella's anti-Detroit campaign! It's sickening! I drive a Mercedes but, Matt Vella's bias against Detroit is plainly disgusting!

Review: As far as stockholders being responsible for the failure of the Big 3, ridiculous! Honda and Toyota are publicly traded. The reason that our car companies are dying (as well as airlines) are the unions. Unions are obsolete and are in business to make money for themselves--to the detriment of the workers and companies. Bust the union!

Review: When will Detroit understand that: "It's the quality, stupid." Million-dollar marketing campaigns touting Chevrolet's fuel economy doesn't clean a reputation for shoddy quality.

Review: I have a Pontiac Vibe which is in reality a Toyota Matrix (mostly Toyota Parts). So far it has had two engines, two exhaust systems, and two lift gates. I bought the car because I thought Toyotas run forever. Wow has this been an expensive lesson! All of this before 40,000 miles! I'm not sure which car company I should be angry with, but all of you that praise Toyota should know that they, too, produce faulty products.

Review: I love my GM product. Seems like GM's worst enemies are clueless journalists.

Review: It appears that since the Eastern companies experience great success with their low-cost quality cars, the Western car companies are forced to alter their image, establishing themselves as high-class brands. The fact that the low-cost cars are increasingly popular is ironic, considering the increasing overall disposable income and thus the increasing penchant to high-class products.
