Review: The success of Google is so big that we really cannot argue with Mr. Schmidt's comment about a turnaround time of 2 years. But still they have to draw the line somewhere and stop diluting them with producing every other day some gimmick tools and making them available for free on the Web. Diversification is good, but please don't forget that you need to get the benefit of your core competency. Otherwise, we'll simply lose the goodies from the top brains in the world.

Review: Guess they want to be the largest marketing & advertising agency in the world that owns the largest newspaper companies, largest magazine brands, largest broadcasting companies, largest PR companies--a media kingdom, thanks to the support by each individual and the support by each at-the-moment independent companies contributing their content. Am I right if I keep using their services?

Review: Good article, but I wouldn't characterize them as "fumbling" necessarily. Google is a company that intelligently "experiments." After all, even in the on-line world they release like a cool new beta Web-based application every other week or so?
I don't think their stock is worth what it's trading at, but these guys are doing a darn good job, I'd say. They're quickly making Microsoft and others in their industry look almost anachronistic.

Review: Despite Burt Helm's analysis and comments made in the article, the common users find an excellent service level freely provided by Google, with lots of attention to the user's needs and suggestions. Compare it with the highly priced alternatives--it lives way above its claims. The minor and comparatively unobtrusive ads are quite acceptable, and at times are even useful!
As a user, I salute them, as all others I know do.

Review: "Google's novel combination of search and advertising"? Come on Mr. Helm, while Google certainly dominates the paid search space today, its core business model is anything but "novel." GoTo.com, which became Overture Services and is now Yahoo Search Marketing, created the paid search industry, and many other small players like FindWhat (now Miva) were in the game long before Google. Take the Google halo off for a minute, and speak the facts.
