Review: Intelligence isn't just inventing things - street-smarts and common sense are forms of intelligence, so for that the Batman beats Reed. He seems to have a wider base of knowledge too. In the field of Math, however, Reed would win. everywhere else, I don't know how Reed could come close to a man who's traveled the world and experienced so much of the world and a wide array of educational institutions prior to becoming a vigilante, like the Batman, the world's best detective. Review: Great article if a little rushed. You should add DC's Manhunter to the list who is a woman and considered one of the top attorney's in the DCU and among it's most brutal heroes.
Another overlooked hero would Be Amanda "The Wall" Waller who is a anti-hero who means well but usually goes about it the wrong way. She is an extremely intelligent member of the government who runs black ops operations and has even figured out the identities of both Batman and Superman.

Review: You forgot the She Hulk. While it may be true that she doesn't use her brain that much in crime-fighting as a superhero, she HAS been known to use her appearance to intimidate opponents in the courtroom by wearing business suits tailored to show off her 7 foot green frame (and admits to it). That alone should merit an honorable mention.

Review: Point 1: There is no heirarchy given. This is just the top ten, it's not ordered.
Point 2: Whoever compared Spiderman to Xavier - the ability to read minds does NOT make someone more intelligent.
Point 3: This is a good list. Stop pissing on it.

Review: Brainiac 5. By definition he is a few orders of magnitude more intelligent than the combined population of 20th-century Earth.

Review: Come now, Batman smarter than Reed Richards? How many time travel, dimension travel, faster-than-light spacecraft, or any other of a thousand inventions has Batman created? Richards invents things like this every day, devices that Bruce could never create even if he devoted his entire lifetime to try. Bruce is very intelligent, yes, but he isn't even near the same level as Richards. Mr. Fantastic is the most intelligent person in comics, without much room for argument.

Review: Batman is super smart but Reed Richards is smarter. Reed just doesn't have any common sense or street smart.

Review: this list is wrong. richards should definitely be number one. prof. X is definitely more intelligent than spiderman (come on, one can read minds the other works for a news paper). dr. strange is definitely more intelligent than half the people on the list.

Review: The comments on this topic suggest that folks may not be clear what the target is: the heroes here are listed based on their acquired knowledge and pursuit of it, not just how savvy they are or how many books they've read. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Black Panther just don't qualify. Here's a good litmus test: have you ever seen your character holding a beaker or wearing a white lab coat? It's not just scientific prowess, but a 'career' in the sciences (including forensics). Now decide who should be there. Any hierarchy or exclusivity isn't really stated here, so the list is not that bad.
