Review: In fact, though with lots of problems, Chinese banks have their competions compared with foreign banks. You may say that Chinese banks are not effective, but in China, most people would put their money in Chinese banks even though the foreign banks are effective and have better service. That is because you can't find any foreign banks that have so many net-banks that could make convient to them. So, to compete with Chinese banks, the main profits concentrate on the middle-business, not the savings and loans.

Review: All the people who left comments about Chinese banks don't get it at all. It's not about the competition. It's about market penetration. All the "G8" countries are already 100% penetrated, while China has barely scratched the surface. People have to remember that until the 1990s it was against the law in China to own property, now their starting to see the error of that practice.

Review: As a matter of fact, as I live in China, the governance and management in China's banks are very ineffective ? they seem profitable just because the government helps them out. In the long term, they are not competitive at all.

Review: I am amazed at how willing people are to invest in China's companies, knowing they are rife with problems and not the least bit transparent. The ex-pats in China just shake their heads.

Review: I can't believe that the Chinese mainland banks are traded at the premium over the oversees banks (like HSBC).
