Review: Hi! I really liked that article about the importance of libraries and if used properly can bring you some great results as we saw in the case of Ali and Constantinou.
Thanks

Review: There is no better example of a Library than the Library of Congress. The other notable example is the Uppsala University Library. I was there in 2001 for an international conference.
The university library holds about 5.25 million volumes of books and periodicals (131,293 shelf meters), 61,959 manuscripts, 7,133 music prints, and 345,734 maps and other graphic documents. The holdings of the collection of manuscripts and music includes, among other things, the Gothic Bible manuscript Codex Argenteus. Da Vinci Code has missed this manuscript entirely.
The present university library system comprises 19 branches, including the one in the Carolina building.
Incidentally, it was in Uppsala that I began writing the novel Trident Conclave!!

Review: Libraries in the U.S. are a fantastic resource and it goes without saying that it is the librarians world over who make the libraries more so. Until online libraries become accessible to everyone, it would be really nice to see good libraries being set up the world over. Imagine the possibilities --not just in terms of entrepreneurs. :)

Review: I wish more agencies of local government explored ways to better reach and serve their "customers" as librarians have made a point of doing for a loooong time. It is especially gratifying to see them seek ways to serve different niche markets, such as small business. Librarians in Marin County have helped me start my last two businesses and, yes, I do go out of my way to tell the elected officials about their priceless help when budget time comes around. And Stacy I love reading your columns. Kare, author, SmartPartnering.

Review: As a business services librarian (way up north in Canada too!), it's great to see some positive feedback about the value of libraries in our business communities! Thanks!

Review: I agree wholeheartedly -- libraries and librarians remain undervalued and underused in today's ecology of instantaneous information. There is a dire need for society to become more literate about how to find accurate, relevant information quickly in the present information landscape. Librarians are excellent intermediaries to accomplish this task.
Libraries rock!

Review: Why is the library an "unlikely" place to go to do research? It should be the first place one goes in a community because there is local info there that may not be accessible on the Web and knowledgeable librarians who can provide their own expertise and referrals to other local businesses on how to succeed. We are too focused on the Internet when a pamphlet from a local entrepreneur could provde the best advice.

Review: We aren't going back, are we? It's not a choice between Google and the Library. It's about the better half of our history realized in different ways.

Review: The right and accurate knowledge are invaluable and always the key element to reach success. The problem nowadays is that in an era when all of us are flooded by information, how can one identify and collect the right knowledge? No doubt, librarians are the right people who can give you a hand. And I fully agree that professionals like librarians that provide services that direct people to the right knowledge they need is a promising job next to MBA. And more important, the potential of such services has not been recognized by the crowd yet.
