Review: Big money and greed. That's what this is all about. What about some spectrum for public access license-free applications? In case anyone's forgotten the electromagnetic spectrum happens to belong to the citizens of the country, not private companies. Will the government use their billion dollar windfall for the betterment of the country at large?
Not a chance. So sad really.

Review: In my view, the high cost of spectrum puts limits on the service costs and hence service innovation developed by spectrum holders. However, if any existing carrier like Cingular or Verizon picks up the spectrum, then their cost of rolling a network will be certainly lower than that of any new players.

Review: Intel Worries Unfounded (INTC)
Related Stocks: INTC
It will be very difficult for Intel (INTC) to again have the kind of profitability and growth it enjoyed as the standard-bearer of the semiconductor revolution. Competition has grown. The demand for semiconductors has become so large that no one company will be able to dominate whole segments, as Intel [once] did in memory chips and microprocessors. At least five or six companies will be splitting up that silicon pie into more equal slices.
Does this worry sound familiar? Have fears of AMD soured your taste for Intel?
Here's something to think about: the above quote is from the March 30, 1981 issue of Forbes. Since then, shares of Intel have increased roughly fifty-fold in value. This is true despite a 23% drop in Intel's share price over the past 52 weeks and without accounting for dividends the company has paid.
"Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

Review: Very informative! I am particularly interested in WiMax, which appears to be a superior technology to Wi-Fi, which some cities, including Grand Rapids, Michigan, are taking bids on to provide wireless data service citywide. If you have any more articles on WiMax and Clearwire, please let me know.

Review: It would be nice to see American companies start expanding to use technologies. France, et. al. have beat us to the punch; cable companies, IPOs and full use of the Internet
is exciting. Nothing like a
good auction and bidding war;
now get going with oil/energy.
