Review: And let it also be known, that traditional phone lines fall shorter and shorter of consumer expectations for price and quality because of regulation. In our current economy, big business and government are taking bigger and bigger bites out of the consumer wallet. It's shocking to see that the mainstay of telecom is still being squeezed and fee'd as harshly as it is by FCC mandated surcharges. Why couldn't a company operate their traditional dialtone under the umbrella of digital/voice. Leave the lines to a smaller player? Heh. I think most broadband/television/telco's and cable co's are happy to oblige. What better way to squeeze out and shatter the little player in the big game of telemedia than to offer them 100 year old technology. For those of you keeping score, deregulation isn't working.

Review: What happened to Verizon's plans of having fiber to the homes and than delivering television, phone and Internet to those homes. I would think they would want to own as many lines as possible to ensure enough viewers for their advertisors.
