Review: Italy's industry is dying along with its population, and Italians feel that immigrants will ruin the country. So why are Italians going to England for work?

Review: To respond to Hmmm--If the 2002 World Cup was not as scandolous as what is happening in Italy, then I don't know what is. Wherever money/power is involved, the ugly face of corruption might be just around the corner. Look at Wall Street. The good thing is that at least some brave souls had the courage to bring matters to light. One bad apple spoils the bunch...this was indeed the case. One bad person managed to spin an incredible web of corruption involving many. For years I've been extremely skeptical of the Italian League and how a few always manage supreme success. No one had proof that this was as epidemic as it's turned out to be. I'm now relieved that all of this mess has been brought to light and will be dealt with accordingly. I've always wondered about how FIFA and its directors decided on some of these refereeing decisions, tournament set up etc...I'm not convinced that something similar is not also present in thesse other bodies.

Review: As an Italian studying and living abroad I feel extremely ashamed of these happenings. The sad thing is that every single Italian soccer fan knew or suspected these "under the table" affairs, but no proof (untill now) ever came out. Better late than never. I believe that the Italian soccer system is too rotten to come out completely clean by itself. Hopefully a super-party European commission will take over and get rid of all the bad apples. Starting with Adriano Galliani, the best example of conflict of interest: he is the president of Italian Serie A and B league, but also the president od A.C. Milan. As a general consideration I would like to point out the fact that after Berlusconi lost the elections all the "good" things are happening to Italy: Provenzano (the boss of the bosses) was captured, the Italian soccer scandal broke out, and Cesare Previti (a parliament member with mafia's collusion) went finally to jail. In Italy we say: the devil makes the pots but not the covers!

Review: Hmmm. Weren't they the loudest complainers about the refs being bribed, during the 2002 World Cup in South Korea? If it ain't the pot calling the kettle black!

Review: It is not just soccer that is a problem in Italy. Italy is a country that is moving backwards. The population is declining, its young leave to go to other countries (UK, US, and Canada) Its industry is dying. To make matters worse, Italy does not allow immigrants to revive its economy.
