Review: I have a c200. I just got it today. Before I bought it, my friend was like "Get an iPod. They're the best." He told me to get a Shuffle if I couldn't afford the bigger ones. I couldn't. But I didn't want the Shuffle. It has no screen. So I bought this. My friend just came over, he's fooling around with my sansa as I type this. You should see the look on his face.

Review: The one major flaw in iPods is the fact that the battery is hard to replace. So when it starts 'rotting', you have to either throw the iPod away, or spend more money on replacing it. If iPod smartens up and makes self-replaceable batteries, I'm sure more people would want to buy it. Sansa is pretty smart for putting that in, along with the radio and the voice recorder, which iPod doesn't have.

Review: The one thing that blew me away about the nano... $179 Can....when the battery goes, $160 Can. to replace it (300-500 charges) and it can only be replaced at the factory... a couple - three years of use. Change the battery in the e270 yourself. The bandits at IPod wont have my $.

Review: If Apple would open up their players to third-party software and not insist on all the proprietary crap, I'd buy one in a second. They make a good product, but it's a shame they didn't learn anything about the proprietary stuff from their past mistakes.

Review: A lot of people above do not know what they are talking about. First, the iPod is a MP3 player. It also plays several other formats including M4A and M4P with Fairplay. Apple only locks out music stores that use Microsoft's WMA protection, which is much worse than Apple's fairplay. If you get your music on CD or without DRM from a place such as eMusic it will work on an iPod. Still the SanDisk player does look fine. If you want to buy, go ahead. I'm sure it will do fine for you, however don't spread FUD.

Review: I've got to say, simplicity is what the bulk of the market wants. Top to bottom, Apple has got it down good. The alternatives seem to lack the infrastructure to offer the masses the simplicity iTunes coupled with iPod provide to the end user. Give us something that works smoothly along with some "cool factor" in it, and you will find that people will clamor to get in on the action. You will also find devoted users that will powerfully move the market through word of mouth. The proof is in the pudding. Great products and good campaigning will reap a great reward! Good luck Harari. Give us the best you have and the market will be sure to let you know whether you have your finger on the pulse of consumer's desires. We will vote with our pocketbooks!

Review: What is coolest with an iPod, compared to its challengers? Just plug it into your PC and it synchronizes all your songs whithout headache. When SanDisk (or whoever) proposes a killer-application such as iTunes (the Apple digital jukebox), they have a slight chance of competing. Before that, no way!

Review: In the article, Arik mentions that Harari says, "many gadgets for email and music will migrate into one device that does it all." Well, just look at the Palm Treo line of products. I can get corporate and personal e-mail, surf the Web, take pictures and play my MP3s and games. It's a brilliant device! I'm a Mac/Apple evangelist as well, but I don't own an iPod. I don't need to add yet another device to my arsenal. Before the Treo, I had to carry my mobile phone, pager, Palm III and any CDs I wanted to play in my car; why would I want to add another device to carry around? And funny enough, I have a 2GB SanDisk for my Palm, so they already got my business. And for people "upset" about Apple's amazing marketing scheme for the iPod, give them a break! How do you think Microsoft got to the top of the market with Windows and their other poorly written programs? Marketing and licensing strategies that squeeze/lock the consumer in. At least Apple is putting out a well-designed product.

Review: You know, with all those flash memory cards, I expect people will order more than one or two of them for their phone, MP3, PDA, or what ever. They need a good case for those cards. I have seen one at www.eporterinc.com. The unique thing about this case, is it holds multiple styles of cards anything from the SD card down to the microSD will fit in it, including the memory stick duo and MSD Pro. Also, it fits on your key chain, so you never lose your memory. If you have ever lost a card or ruined a card, you probably should get one of these. They call them the iPorter xSD. Check them out at www.eporterinc.com
