Review: H.L. Menken would have a new generation of "booboisie" among the dunceheads who believe the answer to the cost of education is to eradicate tenure. America's higher education system is still the envy of the world and enlightened states and communities have recognized the direct relationship between the presence of a quality college or university and local economic development and prosperity ... perhaps because we're doing something right?

Review: Kam -- you obviously know nothing about the bureaucracy of higher education and what exactly tenure entails. From an outsider perspective, I can see how you think ending tenure would be the most efficient cost cutting measure; however, it would also be the most ridiculous move that universities could make. Tenure protects professors from students who would like to see them fired because they did not pass a class. Or, more frighteningly, students that take Horrowitz's comments about turning in professors who are "too liberal" seriously. If you really want to see the price of higher education drop, then persuade your congressmen to pump more money into education and less money into defence. Or persuade universities to cut sports programs, which are really the biggest waste at any institution.

Review: Colleges should declare bankruptcy, terminate all the tenured parasites, reorganize, and discontinue that idiocy called tenure.
And amazingly the cost of higher education would drop.
