Review: I totally agree, but don't forget the "nuevo neoliberalismo indigena" that is promoted by Chavez, Morales and perhaps Ecuador's Humala. It's a straight confrontation with the U.S. I dont know where it takes them and their countries. But by all indications, history will never change and U.S. interests will prevail.

Review: Bolivia is a country with a small rich mostly white elite and a big mass of poor indians. The economy is dominated by mineral resources: in the past silver and tin; nowadays gas. The consequence is that the country suffers from a kind of bipolar disorder. At most times the country is dominated by the foreign mining companies and it is a kind of neo-liberal "paradise" where even water is privatised and mining companies pay very little taxes. And at other times you see the (over)reaction resulting in nationalisations. One can only hope that Morales will be able to find the middle of the road.
