Review: Where will future new drugs come from if the research-oriented drug and biotechnology companies continually are weakened by generics to their leading products. Certainly not from generics companies. A better way would be to incentivize innovative drug companies with patent laws that would resemble copyright laws. Were these innovators to know that they would receive financial benefits on all future new drugs beyond their patent lives, they would likely be forced to adopt through competition more reasonable and lower introductory prices for their new discoveries.
