Review: we have Dunlop DSST on our 2007 SC-430. The only problem to date is that the rims get scars on the edges when tires rub up against curbs. We have 8400 miles and will be driving from LV to Ft, Myers, FL soon. Hope everything holds up AOK.

Review: 2006 Hondas with run flat tires. Had a flat with 590 miles on new car on Saturday afternoon. Honda dealer closed, tire dealers never heard of this tire, stuck until Monday, and run flat tire did not work properly, at least Honda did replace the wheel and tire.

Review: Same as Me3. In under 30,000 mile I have already bought 2 tires because of flats and now need 4 new tires. Discovered that yesterday trying to drive in snow. Damn scary, sliding all over. I an considering trading the care before sinking $2,000 for tires.

Review: I just bought an '07 Odyssey Touring with the PAX run flats. Sure enough, @ 2 months and 3000 miles, driving Interstate 5 from San Francisco to LA, my home, I experienced a flat tire (sidewall defect) right in the middle, 209 miles from home, at 5 PM, and 80 miles from the nearest Honda dealer(?!), who told me to "bring it in, we can take care of it tomorrow." As I HAD to work the next morning (doctor), I eventually was transferred to a Michelin PAX hotline, who graciously provided me an extended cab flatbed tow truck to tow my car, wife and 2 year old the entire 209 miles. While greatly appreciated (I'm sure the tow bill was over $1000), the delay cost us about 5 hours, getting in @ midnight. It took a half day @ a local Honda dealer to replace the tire. Until Honda dealers or facilities that can repare/replace these tires are as common as McDonalds with the same hours, I'm sorry but these tires are totally unsuitable for road trips without a spare in the vehicle.

Review: Does anyone know If the wheels can be changed on the Honda. I have heard both sides, one says yes you can and lose nothing but the lack of a spare , the other says NO WAY the suspension is somehow set for the wheels of the run flats and you would give up the interior tire pressure guage. The cost of over 2000 dollars leave me to believe we can use a conventional tire pressure guage. Has any one changed out the wheels and tires for conventional successfully?

Review: I am stuck with four worn PAX RFT's with a replacement cost from the Honda dealer of $1,600. Can anyone tell me if I can use another tire instead, if it will affect the sensors, and if I even care?

Review: Just got the ggod news form Honda. All my runflats need replacing, at a mere $500 apiece!!! That's a pretty hefty charge for tires that don't last very long (<25K mile). Unfortunately, it looks like more and more cars are coming with these as std. equipment. Too bad!!

Review: It sounded excellent, we bought it so I would never be caught with my 2 girls alone with a flat tire. Not true. The fun flat just blew out on us Sunday as I was getting on the frwy. I pulled off because the car was squirling. The tire was completely split across the top from one end to the other and almost to the rim. No place around and no spare! Fortunately the Hwy patrol followed us off the frwy to gas station, we put a used tire on just to get us home 30 miles. We could not drive the vehicle with the run flat because it was obliterated. In addtion the rear shock broke as a result of driving it off the frwy 10 miles to get to help. Thank goodness my husband was with us and we werent out in the middle of no where. Contacted Honda to ask for a spare and they arent willing to do that since you are supposed to be able to drive on these tires. Clearly not the case.

Review: The run flats are a problem but the real drawback is no spare. No new technology is perfect and neither are the runflats. The inconvenience of a harsher ride, etc. pales in comparison to having a problem, not being able to reach an appropriate garage, dealership, etc. and being stranded with NO OPTIONS. The tires are not readily available and therefore the USA market is not ready to support the RFTs. Decent idea, premature introduction, lousy execution, needs a spare.

Review: Man you guys should really appreciate this technology and stop complaining the cost to replace the tire and the tire thread. Maybe the cost of risking to blow up a standard tire and probably on a highway which then you may lose control of your car and crash, or risking to waste your time and having to stop by the side of the highway (hoping no blind/drunk drivers will hit you in the emergency lane, if there is one). Or try and change your flat tire while you wait for AAA to tow your car. Simply the put it, things are all about safety today. Just for a little more money may end up saving you a lot. BTW, people who are saying RFT are low profile tires, you just have big rims. The profile of the RFTs are actually comparable with standard tires.
