Review: I agree with Professor MacDonald. Companies who screw up need to admit it immediately and take steps to solve the problem. Denial has no positive effect and merely serves to create further doubt and mistrust in both the product and company associated with the product. This will not only destroy any faith that consumers have with ReNu, but also damage the reputation of all other Bausch & Lomb products. Finally, other companies who also make similar products to the Moisture-Loc solution need to investigate and discover if the problem is specific to B&L or if it is inherent in the current moisture technology. At this point, given the severity of the potential harm, I am skeptical of any moisture-loc type product. It takes a leap of faith to put stuff in your eyes, and this is a time where the term "blind faith" is more of a threat than anything else.

Review: This issue has been investigated in Hong Kong and Singapore since February this year. It seems B&L didn't take it seriously because the US market wasn't affected at that time. It's a shame on them.

Review: I agree with some professors' comments on crisis management, such as timely response, demonstrating responsibility on Day One. However, as different companies have distinct approach for issues management, sometimes its hard to imagine the decision-making process within the corporation and different parties' interests involved just by judging outside media reports. For some companies who have not had crisis experience before, it would be harder for them to come out with a clear approach and immediate actions.

Review: ReNu with MoistureLoc from Bausch & Lomb is the most important contact lens solution in our optical stores and cl-labs especially for extended wear lenses. There were no irritations or infections till now, but excellent moisture supply. However, we removed the B&L products immediately from reselling. We have to criticize that B&L Germany gave us no information or suggestions about the problem!
