Review: What is wrong with being a mechanic or a Dollar Store clerk? Some mechanics make a lot of money! They probably don't have to file for bankruptcy like some high aspiring individuals! I surely don't want my kids to be greed-mongers and have biases toward "poor" earners starting at age eight.

Review: It is not just about summer camps. It is about keeping the students involved all year round. Iowa not only provides a summer camp but also has entrepreneurship conferences and clubs that inspire, educate, and motivate students who want to eventually go into business for themselves. The idea is to get away from the saying, "go to school to get a good job," and move towards, "get educated to start your own business." This creates jobs in the long run with succesful companies and helps out our economy. It also teaches our youth that the best investment you have is yourself and the education you receive.

Review: Utah Valley State College is currently offering a week long Entrepreneurship summer camp for high school students that costs the students only $25. The rest of the camp is covered by donations by successful entrepreneurs who, along with UVSC entrepreneurship students, provide mentorship to the camp participants. It's in its third year and fills fast. It's a great combination of schools and community working to provide students a way to a better future.

Review: While I can appreciate what the camps are doing, I wonder how many children that aspire to work in a low income job can actually afford to attend one of these camps and gain this valuable education.
My organization provides extensive and comprehensive workshops for youngsters and teens. We educate on financial decision making and business ownership. We provide the text and other resources. Best of all its complimentary -- a 13-letter word for free.

Review: My comment was taken out of context. The point I was trying to make was that we educate our campers on choices. We want them to aspire to be more than they ever thought possible! Our camp encourages achievement through academics, going for the gold and becoming a success in whatever they decide to do for a living, whether that means being a mechanic or a doctor. If they want to be a firefighter, mechanic, etc. and understand that they cannot drive a brand new car every year or two, go to Disney World every year or live in a huge house in the suburbs then I've done my job.
