Review: The Saturn car displayed at the New York Auto Show is vanilla and gives no reason whatsoever for a customer to go for it. The Saturn PreVue crossover ( Still a concept vehicle) looks like the Infiniti FX series which was designed 5 years back.

Review: This is the result of the domestics flat ignoring this issue for 40 years. In the 50's & 60's the retorical question was: "Who would buy that low quality car?" In the 70s and 80s, it was: "Who would buy that cheap tiny car?" Now it's: "The legacy cost puts us at a disadvantage." They have been in denial for years. The Japanese and Germans don't "cry and whine," they compete. GM and Ford (and DaimlerChrysler) need to produce product that the market will buy, and this time not squander the cash or shrug off market share. An inexpensive car for the masses might be a good start. If the Koreans can build a car with a 10year/100K warranty and ship it here for $10,000 then so can we--or something is seriously wrong and we're tired of hearing excuses.

Review: Here in the UK, fuel costs around $8.70 per US gallon (mostly government tax) so we are highly aware of running costs! Even so, sport/power sells so I'd agree that GM should at least make its range-toppers ooze NASCARness, and introduce racetrack styling tweaks all the way down the model lineup. Also, if the range actually does have good EPA mileage, why not trumpet that to the world?

Review: My wife and I have 2 Chevy's in our garage. My Malibu is a 2004 and average 29.5 mpg and sparkling new 2006 HHR (new cool model) get on avg 26-28 mpg's! I will take those numbers anyday. Experts need to stop giving American automakers a hard time. Do they want them to fail? I sometimes feel they do. GM will come back, and so will Ford. And I hope they end up taking back some of that Japanese market share and sending those companies scrambling. Buy American!

Review: GM and the $120,000/yr blue collar workers need to be put out of their misery.
They produce fraud on wheels.
I owned one GM product and after that I would donate a year's salary to help nuke Detroit as long as the execs hadn't bolted.

Review: I wish all the car review pundits would stop attacking GM and Ford every time they review their vehicles. Sometimes I think they are working undercover for the foreign carmakers (especially the Japanese carmakers). GM and Ford make dependable cars with excellent mileage at better prices than their foreign competitors. Americans have been brainwashed by the "experts" who can't
seem to give GM or Ford
any credit.

Review: Expensive gas is a recent development, design and engineering for cars takes upwards of three years. Even with the lag time, GM has invested heavily in improving the MPG of their trucks. The advantage being increasing the laggards in fuel economy (trucks and SUVs) which happen to be vehicles that can cover the cost of the technology.

Review: For the previous comment, you obviously have not the slightest idea what you are talking about. GM makes more cars with over 30 mpg than any other manufacturer. They have developed the dual-mode hybrid, better than Toyota's single-mode. It will be used by Chrysler and BMW as well. Every company has trucks, and GM's are the most fuel efficient. Go check the Toyota Sequoia. I bet you'll blush at your comment after you that believing happy-smiley Asian automobile marketing does not make you smart.

Review: They make a lot of different cars that do return 30-40mpg. And Toyota makes V8 SUVs that guzzle every bit as much gas as GM's do.
