Review: This is amazing. Long have I dreamed of the use of nanomachines and artificial intelligence as part day-to-day life. Now it is possible to make a city a living, breathing organism. Think of the crime prevention in a city such as San Francisco. Or Oakland, nearby, which has the same homicide rate as all of Canada! This could drastically reduce response time to emergencies! One thing that concerns me about this kind of technology is the ability to monitor people within and outside of their homes, taking away privacy. I would like to see some of this technology, but with a guarantee of privacy. With the newly reworked Patriot Act, I am still more than a little fearful for my privacy. Granted, I am no lawbreaker, but I do have my secrets. Every system is "hackable," as the Australian hackers in the late 90s proved when hacking government Web sites. What is to stop some person with malicious intent from intercepting my daily behaviors? I am both hopeful and fearful of this development.
