Review: The entire analysis and analogy is too macro and broad based. It's easy to try and make out broad patterns. But is that what Google is really about? By venturing into other terrories they actually seem to be losing their way in search? Battles lost on A9? No significant moves in Blog search? Fractal viewing businesses is new age thrill I guess.

Review: Google is to the network era what GM and Ford were to the industrial era. Google challenges us to inquire and revisit many of the ideas of business strategy and operations that we have taken for granted by making incremental changes to ideas refined in the industrial era. The stems metaphor may be apt to delve deep into Google and other companies that are bound to be born later to take advantage of the new functionality that the network era offers.

Review: This writer is dead-on in the overall analysis, but fails to list all of Google's moves. There's way more Google behavior that supports his argument. Most notably, the fact in the very near future Google Earth will synchronize ALL of the Google products. It will be the entry point / start page for a HUGE % of web behavior. For those of you who think Google is a near-monopoly now, just wait until that fateful day. Google Earth is the petri dish in which these stem cells will grow. And it probably will not be evil.

Review: This writer doesn't get it. It's not about Google and the power of their product offering (which is debatable given their weak user interface skills). It's about consumers. Consumers force a brand to represent something. And that something is almost always one thing--not ten things. Consumers see Google as a search company they use everyday. Bottom line--they are a search company. Maybe one day Google (the company) will be a holding company with many brands. But the Google consumer brand will most certainly be a search brand for the next 5-10 years. Does anyone really think Google can hit two grand slams? Few, if any, have ever done so. Those that have focus on what they do best.

Review: Something about everything they build--it just feels right and performs so much better than what everyone else offers. Google rocks. I'm Hispanic and I really appreciate how they translate most everything to Spanish. Arriba Google!
