Review: There will never be a permanent solution to the U.S.-Mexico border problem without a paradigm change. Google "Megamerge Dissolution Solution" to learn the way to solve the problem with justice and without racism. Plus, it makes economic sense.

Review: There is more than a little hypocrisy in most of these posts. Ignorants tearing their shirts while wailing at the moon. Here are the facts: If the USA really wanted to keep anyone out of the country it could do so. There are no technical or economic impediments. Obviously our politicians don't want to do it; so why?? Because Business is vested in cheap labor; and our politicians kowtow to business; first and always. So what if our know-nothing conservative rank and file foam at the mouth a little? Don't they benefit from cheap gardening, janitorial, laundry, groceries, construction, restaurants and hotels?? If you really want to stop unwanted immigration stop patronizing the businesses that engage in hiring these workers, and don't invest in them. If you can't do that, then look in the mirror and see the real culprit.

Review: I think that it is important to know the true economic impact of immigration. We have to promote economics as a science. I agree with the blogger that said the real damage to the USA comes from the uneducated liberal politics they bring- not anything else they do. Rating agencies like Standard and Poor have very little credibility with me. It could probably be argued that they have done as much damage to the US economy as immigration. They gave investment grade ratings to bonds backed sub-prime loans. If they had done their job, a lot of the current housing chaos would not have happened.

Review: I believe that AJ depicted a prime factor in this discussion of the economics of illegal immigrants. Is it ethical to deport individuals and parties that have illegally immigrated to the US? While the economics of this issue can not be ignored, we must first reach a consensus on the ethics of this matter.
We discuss of "these people" as if we were the shift managers of their lives. Would you steal from a homeless family because it was "economically viable"? Our country and culture has struggled with racism for so long, and as an avid citizen and fan of the American History I am disgusted by the side-stepping that is happening in our government and media.
Diminishing labor opportunities, increased education costs, consequences in our credit system?! What say should that have on a national decision to literally destroy the futures, hopes and lives of an uncountable number of men, woman and children HUMANS?
Our most recent war was in hopes of protecting the American Dollar. An economist's war. Look where we are now.

Review: This is the most biased reporting I have ever seen. As an American of Spanish ancestry, I must say that having once conquered all of South America, my people turned abruptly to socialism and have been a 3rd world country ever since. I understand the need to come to a capitalistic country like the USA. But why do the South Americans and Mexicans come here and mandate socialism, vote democrat, and extend other forms of welfare? This is the true crime whose costs are disasterously high.

Review: I find average education numbers to be very misleading. I Olathe KS we have a lot of Mexicans moving in, and it's taxing our school district. The reason for this is that these are not "average" US students. They are enrolled in English as a Second Language classes, and are forcing us to build new schools for their kids, even though the parents pay very little in taxes. Legalizing them will make it far worse, as they start claiming food stamps, WICS, Social Security and other welfare benefits.

Review: "Each year, for example, the U.S. Social Security Administration maintains roughly $6 billion to $7 billion of Social Security contributions in an "earnings suspense file" -- an account for W-2 tax forms that cannot be matched to the correct Social Security number. The vast majority of these numbers are attributable to undocumented workers who will never claim their benefits."
What no-one is talking about is that if these people become legal, they WILL claim their benefits. Then where will we be? If people think the cost is high now, wait until 12 - 20 million of the poorest people living in America today become legal and start claiming all the tax and social benefits they are too afraid to claim now.

Review: Re: the criminal statistics. How can you even get an accurate gage of crimes committed by illegals compared to legal residents when in many areas (such as Los Angeles), officers aren't even permitted to note the immigration status of people who committed crimes.
