Review: Yes, staged homes often bring in a higher appraisal value and often a fast sell. As a home stager I can tell you that it is a win-win situation for the seller, agent and buyer.

Review: I love to decorate and often help friends redo their living spaces. I would love to get into this area, but how do I get started? Do you have to be a professional decorator or is just having the natural "eye" for it enough?

Review: I was fascinated by your article on Home Staging and as a home fashion design coordinator I am very much interested in getting involved in this line of work here in New York City. I would appreciate any input you can give me as to how I might go about getting work in this area with an established Stager/Realtor or develop my own business. I've always had the unique ability to redesign the layout of my friends and family's homes with what they have on hand, achieving unbelievable results that they would not have thought of, so this staging business is right up my alley. Thanks for any information you can give me.

Review: I've been an agent for five years now and "staging" works! It's just catching on here in the mid-South, but an empty home has no feeling. People purchase a home because of their emotional attachment and the way they see themselves living in it. Give them some ideas--stage it!

Review: The article was interesting, however, I would have been more interested if it also included how to get people to come to your house. The market has slowed. Good looking or not, the house has to be either priced right or the seller has to be prepared to sit on it for quite some time.

Review: My wife and I had our home under contract in a day and a half in Virginia Beach. I attribute our success to decluttering the house like it had never been decluttered before. We needed to sell our home quickly and preparation was the key. Don't expect to sell your home if it's dirty with clutter everywhere. Clean your house before it goes on the market. You'll be glad you did.

Review: It was interesting to see the mixed comments made about staging and merchanising a home for Sale. I was one of the founding designers that started this service 12 years ago. I now teach Home Enhancement certification courses for Realtors and design professionals. After personally showcasing/staging over 1,800 homes, I can tell you from my experience the owner usually gets the highest amount of return on their investment in the least amount of time on the market. For every $1 spent on merchandsing (enhancing/ staging a home) you get $5 back. I have many stats to prove it. The cost factor can even be free in the case of a vacant property. There is a cost but in most cases, it is paid back to you with a quicker sale, higher selling price, and less outlay of holding costs. It works!

Review: Enjoyed your article on staging homes for sale. I stage and decorate homes in the North County area of San Diego where it is imperative to stage your home in order to sell quickly and for top dollar. I am happy to see that the staging of homes for sale has been brought to the attention of the consumer so they are aware of what is available to help them enhance the appearance of their home for sale. It's not just for Realtors any more.

Review: Don't you think the article should have included some idea of the cost to stage a home? This is supposed to be a business article not a fashion spread.
