Review: This sounds like communism to me. I am disgusted with our government and have lost faith and trust in them.

Review: I am a naturalist who resides(for now)in MA, this is the MOST unconstitutional, unjust, unfair law. the only ones benefitting from this law are the insurance companies. And we have our state officials to thank for selling our personal freedoms to a health insurance company. They should ALL be fired for thier ineffectivness. I'd say shame on them, but, they have no shame.

Review: This is a resident tax. My premiums jumped to $160/mo with $20 Rx copays. Commonwealth Care refuses to take into account that I have a disabled dependent living in my household, and won't lower my premiums. They continued to bill me during the appeal process - in which I wrote letters and made calls saying I can't afford the premiums. I finally had to cancel the coverage. I now owe $300, plus $76/month in penalties. Shame on this state for screwing low income people. I wrote to the Attorney General, Mass Health, The Division of Hearings, Barney Frank and the ACLU about these problems and other concerns - nobody cares. Well, they can get their money from someone else. I'm packing.

Review: These taxpayers say they know what's going on and I say revolution now, but they just tell me to change the subject. Sheepherders never kill their flock, they beg their pardon. P.S. mandatory health insurance in the land of the free, sounds like the pounding of an Iron fist from some rich white wig. Trying to motivate people by instilling fear in my opinion is the makings of a mindless totalitarian society.

Review: Reply to E.U.'s ignorant comment about other countries having free health care. Nothing is free; the countries that provide healthcare use taxes to do so. Our taxes would have to be much higher than they currently are to provide health care coverage for all American citizens. Compare the health of U.S. citizens to those in places like Japan. The obesity rate is out of control in the U.S., both due to our prosperity as a nation and due to apathy and laziness. If you are going to do comparisons, you need to compare apples to apples instead of Twinkies to apples.

Review: If the citizens of Mass. are too lazy or blind to see they're getting bent over a barrel, they deserve what they get. The goverment is our slave and we are the masters. Stop watching football games and pick up a copy of our constitution. Please for my children's sake, your current president is on the record saying it's just a peice of paper. The people give it power, the constitution needs power it needs you now more than ever.

Review: A week 'til deadline and not even half the uninsured are insured. Too costly.
In Jan. 08, the cheapest plan will be dropped. Didn't meet mininum creditible coverage under the law but the Connector still sold it.
Insur. cos want double digit increases in 08 so copays, deductibles & out-of-pocket will go up. Subsidized plan copays will also increase and a plan with low copays will be cut. It attracted the sickest low-income residents.
So as not to reduce services, the Connector will push HMOs to control spending on chronic illness.
MA will have 100s of 1000s uninsured paying unaffordable penalties. Others will drop insur. b/c of rising cost of living and pay penalties.
The no. in the free plans has left a budget deficit of $150 mil but 11 at the Connector earn 6-fig salaries.
Forcing people to buy a product they can't afford is dangerous. The stress alone is enough to cause illness.
This is not health care reform. It's rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
