Review: I stand corrected. They're not exactly buttons, more sort of touch-sensitive spots. They are useful if you are playing music from a line-in source other than an iPod, a usage model I didn't discuss. With an iPod in the dock they merely duplicate the iPod volume control. In any event, they do not detract from the Hi-Fi's admirable simplicity.

Review: The Hi-Fi does have buttons... Two of them, volume up and down right in front of the Universal Dock.
