Review: Hi,I am a Nutrition minded Chiropractor, and have been using Da Vinci Labs products for years. Food Science Corporation is the Parent company, a NPA certified (Natural Products Association) company. I will not deal with, support or recommend any company that is not NPA certified. I recently called, emailed and had a on line chat with his Dr. Weil's and Dr. Mercola's company and they talk and make statements on their web sites about being GMP certified, but they would not give me the name of the companies that they contract to make their products??? They are a distributer. Do you have any idea on their product line up and where it comes from? I have lost most of my respect for both of these individuals, as they have commercialized their podium for personal gain. They have been taking the 5th when I enquire?? Thanks for your time and considerations. Glen Rasmussen DC

Review: While I agree with JJ that Dr Weil should be applauded for getting out there and creating funding for a worthwhile cause, it was long ago that Dr Weil lost all credibiilty with me. He arbitrarily stated that super blue-green algae, and a few other raw foods did nothing for one's health and was a waste of time and money. He has obviously not done the research on that subject. Also, what does everyone think is behind the recent 'news' articles dissing CoQ10 and Vitamin E as potentially harmful and not helpful? Previous poor Science? No, Can we say Big Pharma?

Review: Go to a physician who has trained with Dr. Weil and you will see exactly why his foundation is worth every penny. He is a wonderful man with a great vision.

Review: Unfortunately, the pet food isn't so good either. You also have to dig deep to find out that it's made by Purina, which makes a lot of "junk" pet food. Some of the claims about the pet food on their site seem designed to mislead, and Weil probably isn't aware of it because he's not in the industry. It's an excellent marketing plan for Purina, but less so for Dr. Weil.

Review: When a following starts for any so called "gurus," greed sneaks-in inevitably and those messengers of good living ways fall out of grace. I was a follower of Dr. Weill but his value in my mind has diminished. Be on the lookout for another so-called Guru, Dr. Phil. The greed machine has started and it will be a matter of time when he will fall-out of grace too.

Review: Ah, how the path of purity and goodwill invariably becomes grown over with the weeds of greed and ego! Just like Deepak Chopra, it's all about self-enlightenment and living the good life, isn't it? Theirs! Shame on these greedy bastaads!

Review: I think the jobs of medical icon and entrepreneur mix very well. I think it's great that the anti-establishment medical icon is taking an entrepreneurial and anti-establishment approach to funding a foundation that will ultimately benefit all of us. What is he supposed to do? Sit around and wade through ivory-tower bs to accomplish his goals? That's bogus and obviously wasn't getting him anywhere. Dr. Weil is getting out there and trying to make a difference in the best way he can. He's providing information, education and quality products to the benefit of his Foundation. So what if along the way he profits and his investors profit? They provide jobs and move the economy just like any other small business in this country. Isn't that the American way? To get off your butt and do something? I don't fault him, I applaud him. Keep up the good work Dr. Weil!

Review: After reading both the article in Nutrition Action and this one, I'm left wondering what responses of substance Dr. Weil would offer. I'm also left wondering what he thinks about recent reports suggesting taking less vitamin E. Many questions, few answers that are reliable and credible.

Review: Add the good doctor to the long list of sell-outs for greed. He's officially in the "personal care" business -- taking care of himself. His credibility with me is shot.

Review: I am the author of the Nutrition Action Healthletter article that raised questions about Andrew Weil's financial ties to the dietary supplement industry. Dr Weil is quoted saying, "I don't know why they singled me out." We didn't single him out. He was one of three celebrities featured in the article (the other two were Dr Phil and Larry King). Dr. Weil also insists we "made no effort" to reach him. That is not true. We contacted both his personal publicists listed on his Webs ite, his book publicist (he was on a book tour at the time), and finally his foundation. No one responded, even though we explicitly told them all we were preparing an article on Weil's supplement businesses and wanted to discuss this with him.
