Review: To "A graduate of HEC": How childish of you to leave such a narrow-minded comment about the campus. You don't deserve to call yourself "a graduate of HEC" after all the troubles that you had left here.

Review: So much hypocrisy from HEC business school! It persists in being a caricatural elite university, despising people from the lower class and with a non-white ethnic background. They could sure use part of their endeavors and reflexion to foster more diversity and fairness among their students, but they obviously indulge in stupid announcements like the iPod/HEC alliance.
HEC is nothing more than a closed academic environment, full of contempt for the poorest alumni. That's why I am leaving France for the USA!

Review: What does ipod have to do with education or business except for Apple's own business? Nothing. Forcing students to use closed platform used in few industries nonsense. Fortunately there are better schools then HEC out there.

Review: The French law, assuming it goes through in the propsed form, will have absolutely no impact on the sale of iPods. If anything, it could work to the advantage of Apple because other manufacturers would have to adopt Apple's AAc standard too. Apples already play most formats including MP3 and most estimates suggest that most music on iPods is "ripped" there from CDs -- mine most certainly is. The only thing Apple has to do is withdraw the iTunes store from France. Even then, at least one interpretation suggests that Apple may be able to find a way to come ahead on that one too.

Review: I still haven't worked out why everybody seems to think that shutting the music store means not being able to add new music to your iPod. I had an iPod in the U.K. long before the U.K. iTunes came out and I assure you it was not empty due to the lack of a Music Store. I don't see why Apple would pull iPods from France at all.

Review: Video podcasts of lectures is a great way forward. I am a die-hard Apple fan since 2001 and I am very glad that they struck a deal with a B-School that I am applying and looking forward to.

Review: I just recall that HEC is the most prestigious Business School in France. These students will not take their iPods to the protests.

Review: To #1: I think the students will end up paying for the iPod. It will probably be included in tuition or some other fee. Of course, in Europe they do things a bit differently, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Review: Or they can take their iPods to the protests and stay in the unemployment lines forever because no one wants to hire 20 year olds with 10 year contracts.

Review: P.S. It's too bad, really, all those under-26 year olds may be listening to old music on their iPods while they're in the unemployment line when they've been churned out of their jobs by the new French employment rules.
