Review: The blank check company has crossed the ocean and is becoming a rage in Europe through AIM listing as the previous poster mentioned. And the deal sizes are also getting bigger.

Review: The "blank-check" phenomenon has crossed the pond. The UK Alternative Investment Market (AIM) has seen a number of SPAC deals in 2005/6 already--quite often US companies seeking to avoid SOX overheads. I work in London for Collins Stewart, where I have seen several such deals.
