Review: I left last June, and hear that many more have left as well. Given that they have sent me two letters asking me to consider returning I suspect Oracle is suffering badly from accquistion attrition. The reduced payroll may help their earnings, but sales will take a hit before too long.

Review: If Oracle could integrate its acquisitions successfully, it could help consolidate its market dominance. Obviously, it takes time to do that. Oracle doesn't rely on the short-term hot numbers, but focuses on the future market share. As for the database business, it is time for Oracle to get some breakthoughs.

Review: It seems that Wall Street has some problem dealing with Oracle. Previously they used to quote application sales as most important, and now when applications are going OK, they use database sales to paint a gloomy picture. If they have to compare database sales, then show a comparison with IBM or Microsoft. Wall Street is overanalyzing, as usual.

Review: How much real enterprise database market is out there that Oracle doesn't already own? The future of this company is applications and Oracle seems to be integrating the acquisitions and successfully capitalizing on them. While I believe Wall Street has a chip on its shoulder with Larry, I thought Phillips and Catz would do a better job sellling Oracle to their former colleagues. What's up with that?
