Review: Additional information about the tryouts can be found on the FAO Web site www.fao.com. Click on "customer service." Under "About Us" in the lower right hand corner of the page is the topic "Toy Auditions." If you click on that it will bring you to a page with information about the tryouts, including the dates of future sessions (May 11, July 13, Sept. 14), a description of what they're all about, where to go, and other contact information.
Here is the link to that page:

Review: This is Nanette Byrnes, the writer on this story. For those of you interested in contacting FAO about future toy tryouts, the best thing to do is call Nanette DiFalco of FAO at 212-239-7363, ext. 242 or e-mail her at NDifalco@fao.com. Good luck!

Review: I've worked with children for 20 some years and know what works. I have developed an art activity that was sold in a lot of small chain stores and campgrounds. I was missing the advertising and design. I have many ideas but am low on resources for design, marketing, etc. Are you still interested in ideas? I would love to work with you.
Thanks

Review: I have a very unusual, real life, incredible idea for toys, movies, books, etc. Children and adults love it and I would love to share it. It will make it big. Who do I contact at your company?

Review: I also remember FAO Schwarz as being that magical toy store with only the best and most unique toys. I'm glad to hear they are trying to recapture that. I am also interested to know whether they are still accepting ideas and if a prototype is needed? Where can I obtain more info?

Review: I turned to this article expecting to find information on how to submit an idea to FAO Schwarzfor a new toy. Instead I found an article about a submission event that took place a month ago. There is no mention of whether FAO Schwarz is still interested in ideas from the private sector. In this regard the title of the article is very misleading. The article itself just leaves the reader hanging with nothing but questions.

Review: In reading your article about toy idea submissions I also wanted to know whether I need to have a prototype or can I submit an idea and are you still accepting idea submissions?
Thanks, Mimi

Review: FAO represents wonder, excitement, awe, magic, pretend, wide eyes, dreams and inspiration. FAO used to be the Neiman-Marcus/Bergdorf Goodman of the toy world. FAO has lost its way. Hopefully, I'll once again, very soon, see the greatness of toys that I saw 30 years when my Dad took me into that magical world on 5th Avenue.
