Review: Wow are you all telco CEOs making yourselves feel better? That someone is holding you to what you promised? If I pay MY money to have a data line in MY home I Google's video and I will do what we wish. The Telco I am paying for can keep their grubby mits OUT of my data, provide me what they are CONTRACTUALLY obligated to, AND quit telling me what devices I can and cannot use. Its like a gas station telling someone what cars they can have, how fast they will allow the gas they are paying for to come out, and deciding what kinds of people get priority. So we are clear their have already been STRONG breaches of this... Google Comcast and FCC. Net neutrality rules are needed because companies are interfering and to boot they have both hard and soft locks on their customers. Your Cell phones and wired connects come with contracts and equipment that cost money. Monopolies in land lines in most markets complicate this even further. Consumer cannot simply walk away if a company isn't doing what they feel they are CONTRACTUALLY obligated to do.

Review: And who is the ONLY candidate talking about these issues? Ron Paul. Let's see a Verizon endorsement for liberty! Anyone interested in a great interview where he really explains his positions in depth: http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071108/NEWS08/311080111/-1/news08

Review: Verizon is many Billions of dollars in debt specifically so they can dig up the entire North East and bring big fat fiber pipes to everyones home. Google has not spent one nickle to get you better bandwidth and many of you think Google is a victim?? Google wants to flood your home with video (massive bandwidth hog) on Verizon's network and they should get a totally free ride? All you net neutrality lovers need to go take Economics 101. I am no fan of the phone company but you have to look at the whole story here. Google has you all... well ... googled.

Review: How could you possibly say "Why do the phone companies have to suffer all the loss?" Is that a joke? In what world does it make sense for the phone companies to take control of the Internet. Did they contribute to the development of the Internet? The Web browser? What about the World Wide Web itself? The answer is no. The very people who did contribute are fighting on the side for Net Neutrality. As for the empty words of Mr. Tauke, I agree that we're going to need that in writing.

Review: Free loaders. No one wants to pay for anything and everybody wants to download free music, videos, TV channels, etc. Think about it. What if I go to your house, set up my business, use your electricity , bathroom, food, etc. to make money but do not pay a penny. That's what Yahoo/Google want to do. Just think about it.

Review: To read this one would think they are "suffering" a hardship for innovation. They are not suferring. Part of doing business is taking the risk on innovation and if it works, then reap the benefits. I agree wiht another poster - Put this gaurantee in writing. Since when have large corporations given in to consumers when theree is no competition.

Review: Alright, Tom. Then let's see you put your guarantee in writing--not empty promises here. You've got a great place already. Add this to Verizon's terms of service: -Verizon will not under any circumstances limit, restrict, prevent, or discriminate against access to any content, service, or site on the Internet unless compelled to do so by law or court order. This provision is not subject to change. Otherwise, may you be regulated away.

Review: What a bunch of self-serving hooey. If wireless had been regulated, then the U.S. wouldn't be 10 years behind Europe and Japan in adoption and three years behind in technology. In other places, you can buy a phone and use it with whatever telco you want. Imagine that! Every time a few big companies get to lock out competitors, consumers get screwed. Communications pipelines should be independent of the content that goes over them.

Review: I hope that Google figures out a way to give free WiFi Internet access all over America. I hate people and companies who try and contol the services I want to use.

Review: If by no plans, then why are executives from Verizon & AT&T talking exactly about changing people "riding" on "their" bandwidth. And honestly, what good is it to threaten not to upgrade their network? Really? They are willing to stand still while others plow ahead. Are you willing to say that under oath? It's just not an empty threat--it's a meaningless one. I have no problem with charging me more for a higher overall usage (like electricity or water) but I don't want you to decide for me that I'm getting pink water unless I'm willing to pay more for clear water or I get to search with Verizon Search for "free," but I'll pay more for Google. And besides, who really already paid for their network? What happened to all that fiber they were going to lay? Nothing. They are still using in the neighborhoods--copper--which we already paid for. And you have "neutrality" already by us granting you free access to our right of ways and streets! It is literally a two-way street!
